Ingredients
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-Up (or any lemon-lime soda)
1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick and sour cream using a fork or pastry cutter until crumbly.
- Pour in the 7-Up and stir until just combined to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it.
- Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
- Pour melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish and place the biscuit rounds on top.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally with butter, honey, or jam.
Notes
Plain Greek yogurt can replace sour cream for a tangier taste.
Add a teaspoon of sugar or a touch of vanilla for sweeter biscuits.
Add shredded cheddar or garlic powder for a savory twist.
Sprite or other lemon-lime sodas work as substitutes for 7-Up.
To store, keep biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Freeze biscuits for up to 2 months and reheat in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes or microwave for 15–20 seconds.
