Description
Air Fryer Cheesy Egg Toast is a quick and delicious breakfast or snack that combines crispy toast, creamy cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg, all made effortlessly in the air fryer.
Ingredients
2 slices of bread
2 eggs
2 tablespoons shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Fresh herbs or hot sauce for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly butter or oil one side of each slice of bread.
- Using a spoon, gently create a small well in the center of each bread slice without breaking it.
- Crack an egg into each well.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the egg and around the bread.
- Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Carefully place the bread slices in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the air fryer, garnish with fresh herbs or hot sauce if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For runny yolks, cook for 8 minutes. For a more set yolk, cook for 10 minutes.
Different types of bread like sourdough, whole wheat, or gluten-free work well, but thinner bread may cook faster.
For a sweet variation, drizzle honey or sprinkle cinnamon on the bread before cooking.
If you don’t have an air fryer, cook in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes.
