Description

Air Fryer Cheesy Egg Toast is a quick and delicious breakfast or snack that combines crispy toast, creamy cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg, all made effortlessly in the air fryer.


Ingredients

2 slices of bread

2 eggs

2 tablespoons shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)

1 tablespoon butter or olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Fresh herbs or hot sauce for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly butter or oil one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Using a spoon, gently create a small well in the center of each bread slice without breaking it.
  4. Crack an egg into each well.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the egg and around the bread.
  6. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  7. Carefully place the bread slices in the air fryer basket.
  8. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your desired doneness.
  9. Remove from the air fryer, garnish with fresh herbs or hot sauce if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For runny yolks, cook for 8 minutes. For a more set yolk, cook for 10 minutes.

Different types of bread like sourdough, whole wheat, or gluten-free work well, but thinner bread may cook faster.

For a sweet variation, drizzle honey or sprinkle cinnamon on the bread before cooking.

If you don’t have an air fryer, cook in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes.

This recipe is customizable with various toppings like avocado, bacon, or sautéed mushrooms.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
