This Air Fryer Sweet Chili Chicken and Brussels Sprouts recipe is quick, flavorful, and healthy. The crispy chicken and roasted Brussels sprouts, coated in a tangy and slightly spicy sweet chili sauce, create a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, toss the chicken pieces with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- After the chicken is cooked, add the Brussels sprouts to the air fryer basket with the chicken and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until both the chicken and Brussels sprouts are crispy and golden.
- While the chicken and Brussels sprouts cook, combine the sweet chili sauce and soy sauce in a small bowl.
- Once the chicken and Brussels sprouts are done, drizzle the sweet chili sauce over the top and toss to coat evenly.
- Optionally, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add sriracha sauce or red pepper flakes to the sweet chili sauce.
Vegetarian option: Replace the chicken with tofu (press tofu to remove excess moisture before cooking).
Substitute Brussels sprouts with other veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, or sweet potatoes.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
