Description

Almond Croissant Blondies combine the rich, buttery flavors of almond croissants with the chewy sweetness of blondies, featuring a nutty aroma, crunchy sliced almonds, and a soft, indulgent texture perfect for dessert or snacks.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup sliced almonds

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and well mixed.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture, stirring thoroughly.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently just until combined—being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in most of the sliced almonds, reserving a small handful for sprinkling on top.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the surface evenly. Sprinkle the remaining almonds on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

Variations include adding white chocolate chips or substituting pistachios for almonds.

Use browned butter for a richer flavor.

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.

Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to restore softness.
