Description
Almond Croissant Blondies combine the rich, buttery flavors of almond croissants with the chewy sweetness of blondies, featuring a nutty aroma, crunchy sliced almonds, and a soft, indulgent texture perfect for dessert or snacks.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and well mixed.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture, stirring thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently just until combined—being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in most of the sliced almonds, reserving a small handful for sprinkling on top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the surface evenly. Sprinkle the remaining almonds on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
Notes
Variations include adding white chocolate chips or substituting pistachios for almonds.
Use browned butter for a richer flavor.
For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to restore softness.
