Description
These banana brownies combine the rich, fudgy texture of classic brownies with the sweet, moist flavor of ripe bananas. A perfect twist on traditional desserts, this one-bowl recipe is easy to make and irresistibly delicious.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 medium banana)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the mashed banana, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- If using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
Do not overmix the batter to keep brownies fudgy.
Substitute chocolate chips with chopped walnuts or swirl in peanut butter for variations.
Check for doneness early to avoid overbaking.
