Description

Crispy Cabbage Patties are a savory and easy-to-make snack or side dish. These golden-brown, flavorful patties are packed with shredded cabbage, onions, garlic, and spices. They can easily be made gluten-free or vegan, and are perfect for any meal or occasion. Whether you choose to fry or bake them, these patties are guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds with their crispy exterior and soft, flavorful interior.

Ingredients

2 cups cabbage, finely shredded

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for gluten-free option)

1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, and flour.

  2. Add the egg (or flax egg) to the mixture along with cumin powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and shape into small patties with your hands.

  5. Fry the patties in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove the patties and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

  7. Serve the crispy cabbage patties hot with a dipping sauce or side salad.
