Description

These Caramel Apple Slices are a wholesome, no-bake treat perfect for fall. Made with fresh apples, a smooth peanut butter maple caramel, and customizable toppings, they’re vegan, gluten-free, and naturally sweetened—ideal for parties or guilt-free snacking.

Ingredients

2 large apples, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds

1/2 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Optional toppings: chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, crushed pretzels

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Use a cookie cutter or paring knife to remove the seeds. Pat slices dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, and sea salt. Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until smooth and well combined.
  3. Let the caramel cool for 2 minutes, then drizzle or spoon it generously over the apple slices.
  4. While the caramel is still sticky, sprinkle on your desired toppings.
  5. Place the slices on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to allow the caramel to set.
  6. Serve immediately or keep chilled until ready to enjoy.

Notes

Use lemon juice to prevent apple slices from browning.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter and avoid nut toppings.

Try different apples like Granny Smith for tartness or Honeycrisp for sweetness.

Optional: add cinnamon or pumpkin spice to the caramel for a seasonal twist.
