Description
These Caramel Apple Slices are a wholesome, no-bake treat perfect for fall. Made with fresh apples, a smooth peanut butter maple caramel, and customizable toppings, they’re vegan, gluten-free, and naturally sweetened—ideal for parties or guilt-free snacking.
Ingredients
2 large apples, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
1/2 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Optional toppings: chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, crushed pretzels
Instructions
- Wash and slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Use a cookie cutter or paring knife to remove the seeds. Pat slices dry with a paper towel.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, and sea salt. Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until smooth and well combined.
- Let the caramel cool for 2 minutes, then drizzle or spoon it generously over the apple slices.
- While the caramel is still sticky, sprinkle on your desired toppings.
- Place the slices on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to allow the caramel to set.
- Serve immediately or keep chilled until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Use lemon juice to prevent apple slices from browning.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter and avoid nut toppings.
Try different apples like Granny Smith for tartness or Honeycrisp for sweetness.
Optional: add cinnamon or pumpkin spice to the caramel for a seasonal twist.
