Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup caramel bits or chopped soft caramel candies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- In another small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Drop large spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Add a dollop of the cream cheese mixture on top of each cookie dough mound. Using a toothpick or knife, gently swirl the cream cheese into the cookie dough to create a marbled effect.
- Sprinkle caramel bits over each cookie.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set but still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
