Description
A rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender ground beef, bowtie pasta, and a creamy Parmesan sauce. This hearty meal is perfect for busy weeknights and delivers cozy, satisfying flavors in every bite.
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups beef broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Add Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes if using. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until slightly reduced.
- Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until fully coated in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Swap ground beef for ground turkey or Italian sausage for a different flavor profile.
Add vegetables such as mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
For a richer flavor, add a splash of white wine while the sauce simmers.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat with a splash of milk or beef broth to loosen the sauce.
Freezing is not recommended as cream-based sauces may separate.
