Description
A rich and elegant no-bake dessert made with layers of silky chocolate mousse, fluffy whipped cream, and crunchy chocolate cookie crumbs, beautifully presented in individual glasses.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, divided
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
1/2 cup whipped cream (for layering)
1/4 cup chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips
Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat 1 cup of heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer, without boiling.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy to form a ganache. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whip the remaining 1/2 cup heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold half of the whipped cream into the cooled ganache to create a light chocolate mousse.
- Spoon a layer of chocolate mousse into serving glasses. Add a layer of chocolate cookie crumbs, followed by a layer of whipped cream. Repeat layers until glasses are filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings and fresh berries if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the parfaits to set.
Notes
Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or milk chocolate for a sweeter taste.
Add a layer of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
Chopped strawberries or raspberries can be added for a fruity twist.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
For best texture, let sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving.
