Description

Soft, cinnamon-coated bites of French toast, made from cinnamon rolls, fried to golden perfection, and drizzled with a sweet glaze—these Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites are an irresistible breakfast treat or dessert.

Ingredients

1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 rolls)

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon butter, for frying

1/4 cup maple syrup, for serving

1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter to coat the pan.
  2. Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters, creating small, bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  4. Dip each cinnamon roll bite into the egg mixture, making sure it’s well-coated on all sides.
  5. Place the coated cinnamon roll bites in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the bites to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar for that extra touch of sweetness.

Notes

For a fruit variation, add fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, or bananas.

Instead of powdered sugar, try drizzling a cream cheese glaze or chocolate sauce for a richer taste.

For a savory version, omit the powdered sugar and syrup, and serve with bacon or sausage.
