Description

These classic juicy beef burgers are simple, flavorful, and satisfying. Made with minimal ingredients and an 80/20 beef blend, they stay moist and are perfect for grilling or pan-searing. Great for weeknight dinners or summer cookouts.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon sauce (such as Worcestershire or steak sauce)

4 burger buns

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, pickles, cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Place the ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and sauce to the beef.
  3. Gently mix the ingredients by hand or with a fork, avoiding overmixing.
  4. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  5. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook the burgers for 3–4 minutes on one side without pressing down.
  7. Flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes, depending on desired doneness.
  8. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover loosely to melt.
  9. Toast the burger buns.
  10. Assemble the burgers with desired toppings and serve.

Notes

Do not overmix the beef to maintain a tender texture.

Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest burgers.

Form patties in advance and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking.

These burgers can also be pan-seared if a grill is unavailable.
