Granulated sugar (for rolling)

- Gradually add powdered sugar, about a cup at a time, beating until a thick dough forms.
- Divide the dough if using multiple colors, and knead in gel food coloring as desired.
- Pinch off small amounts of dough and roll into 1/2-inch balls.
- Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
- Gently press each ball with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
- Let the mints dry uncovered at room temperature for at least 4 hours or overnight until firm.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer depending on when you plan to serve them.
Notes
You can substitute peppermint extract with vanilla, almond, lemon, or other flavors.
Use gel food coloring for vibrant colors without thinning the dough.
Shaping mints with molds or cutters adds a fun and festive touch.
These mints freeze well for long-term storage.
Rolling in granulated sugar helps prevent sticking and adds sparkle.
