Description

This creamy beef and bowtie pasta is the ultimate comfort food, with tender bowtie pasta coated in a rich, savory sauce made with ground beef, beef broth, and heavy cream. It’s a quick, simple, and flavorful dish that’s perfect for any weeknight or family dinner.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

12 oz bowtie pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy beef sauce.
  7. Serve the pasta with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for garnish.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. The creamy sauce may thicken after refrigeration, so you may want to add a splash of milk or broth when reheating.

This dish can be made ahead of time by preparing the beef sauce and cooking the pasta, then combining them and reheating when ready to serve.

For a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef for a plant-based meat substitute or mushrooms.

For added heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.

To freeze, store in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
