Description

This creamy garlic shrimp is a quick, flavorful dish with sautéed shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s perfect for a busy weeknight meal or a special treat.

Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  5. Add the shrimp back into the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Add lemon juice and optional red pepper flakes.
  6. Cook for another minute, then garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk or a dairy-free cream alternative.

If you want more heat, increase the red pepper flakes or add fresh chili peppers.

Vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini can be added for extra flavor and texture.

This dish can be served with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables, or enjoyed alone for a lighter meal.

If storing leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream.
