Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups creamy peanut butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (for chocolate topping)


Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter and 2 cups peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition until a thick, smooth dough forms.
  5. Press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.

  9. Lift bars out using parchment overhang and cut into squares before serving.

Notes

Regular creamy peanut butter works best for a stable texture; natural peanut butter may result in softer bars.

Use dark chocolate chips for a richer chocolate flavor.

Add crushed graham crackers or crispy rice cereal for extra texture.

Sprinkle flaky sea salt or drizzle white chocolate on top for a decorative finish.
