Description

A rich, creamy, and authentic Alfredo sauce made with butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese. Ready in just 15 minutes, this versatile sauce is perfect for pasta, chicken, seafood, or even as a pizza base.

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

2 cups heavy cream

1 garlic clove, minced

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Optional: pinch of nutmeg or chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Let it heat gently for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  7. Optionally, stir in a pinch of nutmeg or garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
  8. Serve immediately over freshly cooked pasta or use as a sauce or dip.

Notes

Add lemon zest for brightness.

Use Pecorino Romano for a bolder flavor.

Stir in cooked mushrooms or spinach for added veggies.

Add cooked chicken or shrimp for protein.

Use half-and-half instead of cream for a lighter version.

Store in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat slowly with added milk or cream.

Do not freeze, as it may become grainy when thawed.
