Ingredients

4 cups fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the blueberries evenly in the prepared dish and sprinkle with 1/4 cup of the sugar.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 3/4 cup sugar, and baking powder.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the blueberries without stirring.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

You can substitute blueberries with other fruits like blackberries, raspberries, or a berry mix.
