Description

A quick and budget-friendly garlic bread recipe using everyday sandwich bread, butter, garlic, and optional cheese. Perfect as a side dish or snack, made in under 15 minutes with pantry staples.


Ingredients

8 slices sandwich bread

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic, parsley, and salt until well combined.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each slice of sandwich bread.
  4. If making cheesy garlic bread, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each slice.
  5. Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are golden and crisp.
  6. For extra crunch, broil during the last 1–2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  7. Serve warm straight from the oven.

Notes

Use garlic powder if fresh garlic isn’t available.
