Description

Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos are crispy, golden mozzarella sticks coated in crunchy crushed Doritos and fried until perfectly melty inside. This bold and indulgent snack is perfect for parties, game nights, or anytime you crave something cheesy and crunchy.

Ingredients

12 mozzarella cheese sticks (or a block of mozzarella cut into chunks)

1 cup flour

2 eggs, beaten

23 cups crushed Doritos (Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch)

Oil for frying

Optional: ranch or marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Crush the Doritos in a food processor or in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin until they resemble fine breadcrumbs. Pour into a shallow bowl.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with crushed Doritos.
  3. Roll each cheese stick in flour until fully coated. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat generously in crushed Doritos. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and Dorito coating once more.
  4. Place the coated cheese sticks on a tray and freeze for 30 to 60 minutes to prevent cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry 3 to 4 sticks at a time for 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ranch or marinara sauce.

Notes

For a spicy variation, use Flamin’ Hot Doritos.

Cut cheese into smaller pieces for bite-sized party snacks.

Try cheddar or pepper jack for different flavors and melt textures.

Air fry at 375°F for 6–8 minutes, watching carefully to prevent bursting.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F for 5–7 minutes to restore crispiness.

Freeze breaded, uncooked sticks ahead of time and fry directly from frozen, adding an extra minute if needed.
