Description
A creamy and refreshing mixed berry smoothie made with frozen berries, banana, plant milk, and nutrient-rich seeds. This quick dairy-free drink is naturally sweet, satisfying, and perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack.
Ingredients
3/4–1 cup plant milk (almond, coconut, or preferred non-dairy milk)
1/2 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups mixed frozen berries
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
2 tablespoons flax meal or flax seeds
1–2 pitted Medjool dates or 1–2 tablespoons honey
Pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
- Add the plant milk, frozen banana, mixed frozen berries, hemp seeds, flax meal or flax seeds, dates or honey, and a pinch of cinnamon to a high-speed blender.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more plant milk and blend again until the desired consistency is reached.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately while cold and fresh.
Notes
Add peanut butter or almond butter for a richer flavor and extra protein.
A handful of spinach or kale can be blended in for additional nutrients without strongly affecting the flavor.
Chia seeds or a scoop of plant-based protein powder can make the smoothie more filling.
If using fresh berries instead of frozen, add a few ice cubes for a thicker texture.
The smoothie can be stored in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking.
If the smoothie thickens after chilling, add a splash of plant milk and mix again.
