4 black tea bags
Peel of 1 orange
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons honey or sugar
Ice cubes
Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
- Add the orange peel and cinnamon stick and simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and cinnamon stick, then stir in the honey or sugar while the tea is still warm until dissolved.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
- Pour the cooled tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh orange slices.
Notes
Add a few fresh mint leaves while the tea cools for a refreshing herbal note.
Substitute honey with maple syrup or agave syrup for a different sweetness.
Add a slice of fresh ginger during simmering for extra spice.
For stronger citrus flavor, add a small splash of fresh orange juice before chilling.
Store in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
Remove garnish slices before storing to avoid bitterness.
If flavor becomes strong after storage, dilute slightly with cold water or extra ice.
