These Oven-Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, featuring a savory feta filling wrapped in flaky phyllo dough. Finished with a warm drizzle of sweet and spicy chili honey, they make an impressive yet simple appetizer.
Ingredients
8 oz block of feta cheese, crumbled
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 package (8 oz) phyllo dough, thawed
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup olive oil (for brushing)
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp chili flakes (or to taste)
1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the crumbled feta, softened cream cheese, chopped parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Layer another sheet on top and brush again, repeating until you have four layers.
- Spoon a small amount of the feta mixture along one edge of the layered phyllo. Roll into a tight log, folding in the sides as you roll. Brush edges with more butter to seal.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with olive oil.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- While baking, combine honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat over low until warm and infused.
- Drizzle the warm chili honey sauce over the rolls just before serving.
Notes
Add dried oregano or thyme to the filling for extra Mediterranean flavor.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking for added crunch.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8–10 minutes to maintain crispiness.
Assemble rolls ahead of time and refrigerate unbaked for several hours before baking.
Freeze unbaked rolls and bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
