Description

These Peanut Butter Paw Print Cookies are a fun and delicious treat that combines the creamy, nutty flavor of peanut butter with the sweetness of chocolate. The paw print design makes them a hit with dog lovers, adding an adorable touch to your homemade goodies. Perfect for any occasion, these soft and chewy cookies are a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons milk (optional for adjusting consistency)

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (for paw print design)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and continue beating until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough feels too thick, add a tablespoon or two of milk to adjust the consistency.

  5. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Using a fork, gently press each dough ball to flatten it slightly, creating a crisscross pattern.

  7. Press mini chocolate chips into the center of each flattened cookie to form the paw print design (3 chips for the toes and 1 for the pad).

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Milk is optional and should be used if the dough feels too thick or dry.

You can adjust the paw print design by gently pressing the chocolate chips into the dough before baking.

For a vegan version, swap the egg with a flax egg and use dairy-free butter.
