Ingredients
4 slices of bread
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons pizza sauce
1/4 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Spread pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
- Layer the sauce with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni (if using), oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Top the sandwiches with the remaining slices of bread, ensuring the buttered side is facing out.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove the sandwiches from heat and slice them in half before serving.
Notes
