Description

Ingredients

1 loaf French bread or Italian bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Salt to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt until combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both cut sides of the bread.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered bread.
  6. Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet, cheese side up.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread are golden.
  8. Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for an extra golden top, watching closely to avoid burning.
  9. Remove from oven, slice, and serve hot.
