Description

This Sesame Ginger Beef Stir-Fry Bowl is a flavorful and hearty dish that combines tender beef, vibrant vegetables, and a tangy sesame ginger sauce, perfect for a quick and wholesome meal.

Ingredients

1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced

2 tablespoons sesame oil

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup broccoli florets

2 carrots, julienned

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

Cooked rice (white or brown), for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil and olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the onion, bell pepper, broccoli, and carrots. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame seeds.
  6. Add the cooked beef back into the pan with the vegetables, then pour the sauce over the mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
  7. Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice, garnished with green onions and extra sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.

Feel free to switch up the vegetables depending on what you have available in your fridge.

If you want extra spice, add red pepper flakes or fresh chili peppers.

Chicken or tofu can be used as a substitute for beef.

Store leftovers for up to 3 days in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave.
