Description
These Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes are an easy, flavorful side dish that’s tender and savory, thanks to the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and slow cooking.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks, then place them in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix evenly over the potatoes, making sure they’re well-seasoned.
- Pour 1/2 cup of water over the potatoes and add the butter pieces on top.
- Stir everything gently to combine the ingredients.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook the potatoes on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until tender.
- Before serving, stir the potatoes again and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired.
Notes
For a cheesy twist, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top about 15 minutes before the cooking time is up.
Add a sprig of rosemary or thyme for an herby aroma.
Sprinkle cooked bacon bits on top before serving for added flavor.
Try adding carrots or parsnips to the slow cooker for a veggie-packed side dish.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
If reheating, add a splash of water or broth if the potatoes seem dry.
