Description

These Softbatch Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies are the ultimate treat for cookie lovers. With their ultra-soft texture, rich flavor, and gooey chocolate chips, they quickly become a family favorite. The addition of cream cheese gives the cookies a uniquely chewy and tender texture.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, then gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  5. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop 2-tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are just golden and the centers still look slightly underbaked.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for an extra crunch.

Try using milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate.

For a twist, use white chocolate chips.

Add a sprinkle of sea salt before baking for a salty-sweet combination.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes.
