Description
A refreshing and vibrant salsa combining sweet strawberries and watermelon with a hint of heat and zesty lime, perfect for summertime snacking or as a fresh topping.
Ingredients
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
1 cup seedless watermelon, diced
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/2 jalapeño, finely diced (optional for heat)
2 tbsp fresh cilantro or mint, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the diced strawberries, watermelon, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped herbs.
- Squeeze in the lime juice and add a pinch of salt. Gently toss everything together until well mixed.
- For best flavor, refrigerate the salsa for 10–15 minutes before serving (optional).
- Serve chilled or at room temperature alongside tortilla chips, grilled fish, chicken, or as a fresh topping for tacos.
Notes
Use fresh fruit rather than frozen for best texture and flavor.
Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to meld flavors, but serving immediately is fine.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; do not reheat.
Customize heat level by adjusting jalapeño or substituting with bell pepper for milder flavor.
Try fresh mint instead of cilantro for a different herb flavor.
Add cucumber for extra crunch or honey for more sweetness if desired.
