Description
Juicy strawberries dipped in melted marshmallow and toasted to golden perfection, this easy and nostalgic treat combines fresh fruit with the flavor of a classic campfire dessert.
Ingredients
1 pint fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (or large ones cut into pieces)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Wooden skewers or toothpicks
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Insert a skewer or toothpick into the top of each strawberry.
- In a heatproof bowl over a double boiler (or microwave), melt the marshmallows, stirring frequently until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, if using.
- Dip each strawberry into the melted marshmallow, twirling to coat evenly.
- Place the dipped strawberries on the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a kitchen torch, gently toast the marshmallow coating until golden brown, rotating for even toasting.
- Let the strawberries cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help marshmallow stick.
Use flavored marshmallows for a twist (e.g., strawberry or caramel).
Roll dipped strawberries in crushed graham crackers before toasting for added texture.
Drizzle melted chocolate over toasted strawberries for a more indulgent treat.
Best enjoyed fresh—store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day.
Toasting can be done under a broiler if a kitchen torch is unavailable—watch carefully.
