Description

The Ultimate Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is a rich, indulgent, and easy-to-make dish featuring shredded chicken, creamy cheese, sour cream, and a buttery Ritz cracker topping. Perfect for any occasion, it’s a family favorite that combines comfort and flavor.

Ingredients

4 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup crushed Ritz crackers

2 tablespoons melted butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well-blended.
  3. Add the shredded chicken, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until everything is well combined.
  4. Transfer the chicken mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter and stir until the crackers are evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the top of the chicken casserole.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

If you want to make it ahead of time, assemble the casserole, cover it, and refrigerate it overnight.

For a healthier version, try using reduced-fat cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise.

You can substitute the Ritz crackers with gluten-free crackers or breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.

Feel free to add vegetables like peas, spinach, or broccoli for extra nutrition.

  • If you like spice, add diced green chilies or hot sauce to the chicken mixture.
  • This casserole can be frozen for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before baking.
