Energizing and easy-to-make shower melts infused with peppermint and citrus essential oils to invigorate your senses and elevate your morning routine.
Ingredients
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/4 cup cornstarch
2–3 tablespoons water (as needed)
15 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops sweet orange essential oil
Silicone mold (for shaping)
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch. Stir until well-blended.
- Slowly add water, a little at a time, mixing constantly until the mixture holds together when pressed. Avoid adding too much water.
- Add peppermint and sweet orange essential oils to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Firmly press the mixture into silicone molds, smoothing the tops.
- Allow the molds to dry at room temperature for at least 24 hours until completely hardened.
- Carefully remove the melts from the molds and store in an airtight container.
- To use, place one melt on the shower floor away from direct water stream and allow it to dissolve, releasing vapors.
Notes
Store in an airtight container away from moisture and sunlight to preserve fragrance.
If scent fades over time, refresh with a drop or two of essential oil before use.
Use different essential oils to customize for mood or season.
Not intended for bath use due to essential oil concentration and citric acid content.
If melts are crumbly, add more water slowly until the correct consistency is achieved.
