Description

Berry Puff Twists are buttery, flaky puff pastry treats filled with sweet mixed berry preserves and baked until golden brown and crisp. These easy pastries are perfect for brunch, dessert, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

1/2 cup mixed berry preserves

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth any creases.
  3. Spread the mixed berry preserves evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Mix the melted butter with vanilla extract and brush it over the preserves.
  5. Cut the pastry into 8 equal strips. Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush each twist with beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown, puffed, and crisp.
  8. Allow the twists to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, cherry, or apricot preserves can be used instead of mixed berry preserves.

Add a little lemon zest for extra brightness and flavor.

Dust with powdered sugar after baking for a bakery-style finish.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 4 days.

Reheat in a 325°F oven for a few minutes to restore crispness.

Freeze baked twists after cooling completely and reheat in the oven before serving.
