Description
These easy no-bake Butterfinger Balls combine creamy peanut butter, crunchy Butterfinger candy, sweet graham cracker crumbs, and a smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for holidays, parties, or homemade candy gifts, these bite-sized treats are rich, crunchy, and irresistibly delicious.
Ingredients
1 cup creamy peanut butter
¼ cup salted butter, softened
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
¾ cup graham cracker crumbs
½ cup crushed Butterfinger candy, about 6 fun-size bars
1–2 additional Butterfinger candies, crushed, for optional garnish
10 ounces chocolate-flavored almond bark, divided
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, softened salted butter, and vanilla extract. Beat with a handheld electric mixer on medium-high speed for approximately 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
- Reduce the mixer speed to medium-low. Gradually add the powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs, and ½ cup crushed Butterfinger candy. Mix for 1½–2 minutes until thoroughly combined and the mixture is thick enough to shape.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop, portion the peanut butter mixture and roll each portion between your palms into a smooth ball. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the shaped balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up the filling and make dipping easier.
- Place 8 ounces of chocolate-flavored almond bark in a shallow microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 45 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the chilled peanut butter balls from the refrigerator. Using a fork or candy-dipping tool, dip each ball into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before returning each ball to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt the remaining 2 ounces of almond bark in a small microwave-safe bowl using 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the coated balls using a fork, spoon, or piping bag.
- While the chocolate drizzle is still soft, sprinkle additional crushed Butterfinger candy over the tops, if desired.
- Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator until the chocolate coating has completely hardened. Transfer the finished Butterfinger Balls to an airtight container and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Notes
Use regular creamy peanut butter rather than runny natural peanut butter for a firmer filling that holds its shape.
If the peanut butter mixture is too soft to roll, refrigerate it for 15–20 minutes or add a small amount of extra graham cracker crumbs.
For a white chocolate variation, substitute white chocolate almond bark for the chocolate-flavored coating.
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate melting wafers instead of chocolate almond bark.
For extra crunch, add a few tablespoons of finely chopped roasted peanuts to the filling.
For a decorative variation, drizzle melted peanut butter-flavored candy melts over the chocolate coating.
For mini Butterfinger truffles, use a teaspoon-sized scoop instead of a tablespoon-sized scoop.
Decorate with seasonal sprinkles or colored candy melts for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.
Chocolate chips may replace almond bark. Add a small amount of coconut oil if needed for smoother dipping, although the coating may not set as firmly.
Avoid overheating the chocolate coating. Melt it gradually and stir frequently to maintain a smooth consistency.
Store Butterfinger Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Separate stacked layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
For longer storage, freeze the finished balls in a single layer until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag with parchment paper between layers. Freeze for up to 2 months.
Thaw frozen Butterfinger Balls in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight before serving.
Serve chilled or allow the balls to sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes for a slightly softer peanut butter center. Reheating is not recommended.
These treats can be prepared 1–2 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator until serving.
