Description

These Butterfinger Caramel Crunch Mini Pies feature crisp tart shells filled with a rich homemade caramel mixture and crunchy Butterfinger candy, then topped with whipped topping and a chocolate drizzle. They’re an easy make-ahead dessert that’s perfect for parties and celebrations.

Ingredients

12 mini tart shells (store-bought or homemade)

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars, divided

1/2 cup whipped topping

2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Combine the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth and caramel-like, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in 3/4 cup of the crushed Butterfinger candy pieces.
  5. Spoon the caramel mixture evenly into the mini tart shells.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the filling is firm.
  7. Top each mini pie with a dollop of whipped topping.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Butterfinger pieces over the pies.
  9. Drizzle with chocolate syrup just before serving.

Notes

Substitute Butterfinger with Heath bars, Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, or other favorite candy bars.

Add a pinch of sea salt for a salted caramel variation.

Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate inside the tart shells before filling for extra chocolate flavor.

Top with chopped peanuts or toffee bits for added crunch.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Freeze filled pies without whipped topping for up to 1 month and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before decorating.

Add whipped topping, candy garnish, and chocolate drizzle just before serving for best results.
