Description
This creamy 3-ingredient mango mousse is a light, refreshing no-cook dessert that highlights the natural sweetness of ripe mangoes. It’s quick to prepare, elegantly smooth, and perfect for warm-weather gatherings or an easy everyday treat.
Ingredients
2 medium sweet ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 1½ cups)
1 to 2 tablespoons raw sugar or honey (optional)
½ cup light cream or whipping cream
Instructions
- Add the chopped mangoes to a blender. If needed, add the raw sugar or honey.
- Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
- Pour the cream into a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer or whisk until soft peaks form. Do not overwhip.
- Gently fold the mango puree into the whipped cream until fully combined and smooth.
- Spoon the mousse evenly into four serving glasses or dessert bowls.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 1 to 2 hours, until chilled and lightly set.
- Serve cold, garnished with chopped mangoes, chopped nuts, chocolate shavings, or fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
Use Alphonso, Ataulfo, or Kent mangoes for the sweetest flavor.
Substitute coconut cream for a dairy-free variation.
Add a pinch of cardamom, cinnamon, or a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
Layer with crushed cookies, granola, or fresh berries for an elegant presentation.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Do not freeze, as the texture may become grainy after thawing.
Serve chilled; reheating is not recommended.
