Description

A simple and budget-friendly apple cobbler with a buttery crust and warm, sweet filling that bakes into a golden, comforting dessert.

Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1 cup self-rising flour

1 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

1 stick butter

1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, self-rising flour, milk, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  3. Melt the butter and pour it into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter without stirring.
  5. Spoon the apple pie filling evenly over the batter, again without mixing.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

Try different pie fillings like peach or cherry for variation.

Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth and spice.

Mix in brown sugar for a deeper flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the microwave for 30–40 seconds or warm in the oven.

Serve with ice cream for an extra treat.
