Description

This Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole combines fluffy biscuit pieces, savory breakfast sausage, creamy eggs, melted cheddar cheese, and rich peppered gravy in one hearty breakfast bake. Perfect for family breakfasts, brunches, or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

1 (8-count) package refrigerated Grands biscuit dough

1 pound bulk breakfast sausage

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

1 packet (2.75 ounces) peppered gravy mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain any excess fat.
  3. Cut each biscuit into four pieces and spread them evenly across the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer the cooked sausage over the biscuit pieces.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sausage.
  6. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until combined.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole layers.
  8. Prepare the peppered gravy according to the package instructions and pour it evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until puffed, golden brown, and fully set.
  10. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use spicy breakfast sausage for extra heat.

Add diced bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms for additional flavor and texture.

Substitute Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, or pepper jack cheese for cheddar.

Turkey sausage can be used as a lighter alternative.

Top with chopped green onions or fresh parsley before serving.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

Assemble the casserole the night before and refrigerate until ready to bake.
