Description

This homemade pomegranate juice is bright, crisp, and refreshing with a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors. Its vibrant ruby-red color makes it a delicious drink for warm days or as a fresh mocktail base.

Ingredients

2 cups pomegranate seeds

2 cups still water or seltzer water, divided

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons sugar, optional

Instructions

  1. Add the pomegranate seeds and 1 cup of water to a blender.
  2. Pulse for 5 to 10 seconds, just until the juice begins separating from the seeds.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and gently press the seeds with the back of a spoon to extract more juice.
  4. Add the remaining 1 cup of water or seltzer water to the strained juice.
  5. Stir in the salt and optional sugar until dissolved.
  6. Serve chilled.

Notes

Use seltzer water for a sparkling version.

Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for extra brightness.

Fresh mint makes a refreshing garnish and flavor addition.

Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Shake or stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.
