1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar, optional
Instructions
- Add the pomegranate seeds and 1 cup of water to a blender.
- Pulse for 5 to 10 seconds, just until the juice begins separating from the seeds.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and gently press the seeds with the back of a spoon to extract more juice.
- Add the remaining 1 cup of water or seltzer water to the strained juice.
- Stir in the salt and optional sugar until dissolved.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
Use seltzer water for a sparkling version.
Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for extra brightness.
Fresh mint makes a refreshing garnish and flavor addition.
Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Shake or stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.
