Description

Tender golden chicken is simmered in a rich garlic butter cream sauce with egg noodles for a comforting one-pan meal. The creamy Parmesan finish and savory garlic flavor make this an easy and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

3 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

8 oz egg noodles

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp water

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Sear the chicken for 6 to 7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  5. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring until combined. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the egg noodles, cover the skillet, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the noodles are tender.
  8. For a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch and water together and stir the slurry into the skillet.
  9. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and additional black pepper until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  10. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  11. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to blend the flavors.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Boneless chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts.

Add fresh spinach during the final minutes of cooking for extra color and nutrition.

Stir in sautéed mushrooms for additional flavor.

Asiago cheese can be substituted for Parmesan.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for mild heat.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce.
