Description

This Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie is a hearty and comforting dinner made with seasoned ground beef, onions, cheddar cheese, and a fluffy Bisquick topping. It delivers all the classic cheeseburger flavors in an easy-to-make savory pie perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)

1 pound ground beef

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup Bisquick mix

1 cup milk

2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion and ground beef together until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  3. Drain any excess fat, stir in the salt, and spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared pie dish.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese in the pie dish.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the pie cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Swap cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack, mozzarella, Colby, or pepper jack for different flavors.

Add cooked bacon bits for a smoky cheeseburger twist.

Mix in diced pickles or a little mustard for a more authentic cheeseburger flavor.

Chopped bell peppers or mushrooms can be added while cooking the beef and onions.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Freeze individual slices for up to 2 months.

Reheat in a 175°C (350°F) oven for 10–15 minutes or microwave individual portions.
