Description
This Sugar Free Greek Yogurt Frosting is creamy, tangy, smooth, and light, making it a delicious topping for cakes, cupcakes, fruit, and other desserts. It is easy to prepare and offers a lighter alternative to traditional frosting.
Ingredients
2 cups strained plain Greek yogurt
1 cup sugar-free powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Milk, 1 teaspoon at a time if needed
Instructions
- Line a strainer and place it over a bowl. Add the Greek yogurt and refrigerate overnight to strain excess liquid.
- Add the strained Greek yogurt, sugar-free powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
- Beat with an electric mixer, starting on low speed and increasing to high speed, until smooth and fluffy.
- If the frosting is too thick, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
- If the frosting is too thin, add additional sugar-free powdered sugar as needed.
- Refrigerate until ready to use and keep frosted desserts chilled.
Notes
Add lemon zest for a brighter flavor.
Mix in a small amount of cocoa powder for a chocolate variation.
Use almond extract instead of vanilla for a different flavor profile.
For thicker frosting, use extra strained yogurt and chill well before piping.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Stir gently before using if the frosting has been stored.
